New Switchboard and Motor Control Units for the Port Kembla Grain Terminal

Nulux Update

Nulux has now delivered the new switchboard and mobile power units for Quatttro Ports at the Port Kembla Grain Terminal. The units were built to a particularly high protection specification (IP67) using the beautiful stainless steel enclosures fabricated by Marcianos which were the subject of a Battling Entropy post a few weeks ago.Switchboards

I am pleased to be able to say that the Nulux team electrical workmanship was of the same high standard as Marciano’s metalwork and the finished product is a sight to behold. Some lovely busbar work there. Congratulations to our Nulux Switchboard team for a first rate job!

The special sealed construction is needed for protection against grain dust ingress. Normally we only see this level of protection in switching and control units for the mining industry.

The management at Programmed Industrial Maintenance was kind enough to send us an acknowledgement note after the units were delivered.

Programmed Industrial Maintenance commissioned a stainless steel custom built switchboard along with several mobile stainless power boxes and IP67 junction boxes from Nulux. The system was highly specialised including mining level protection systems and first class workmanship. Nulux, our preferred switchboard provider, has been a pleasure to deal with the end result of which our client Quattro Ports is extremely pleased.
